A must have, you never really think about..
Where we at ??
Been awhile for posting and keeping folks up to date. As of Nov.1st we will officially be Floridians and hope to get things rolling with Triple-R. Will be moving the last of family to Florida in October so we shall have less reason or opportunity to travel to Maine. We will still keep that aspect of the business as an option but frequency will most definitely be limited.
Hope to get settled in and get things rolling for Triple-R and meeting and dealing with folks in the area. Thinking about maybe doing a meet & greet, not yet decided if it would be beneficial or not. So as we get through October keep an eye out for updates and news as we move forward.
Another save.. Coffee Table $25.00 as is.
Great curbside save yesterday. Perfectly good solid coffee table, gave it a wipe down and viola, ready for usage and service. Both drawers are functional and it has an interesting tile looking inlay in the center.
Considering painting the lower half white and leaving the top and drawers there natural colors..?
What is it..? $30.00 as is..
Anyone know what this piece of décor furniture is called..?? It was found at a Goodwill and then bequeathed to me. I have not decided if I want to refinish it or leave as is.. More importantly is I want to identify what it is.! I can think of a great many uses for it.
It measures 32 x 10" at the top and tapers down from there. Definitely an accent piece of sorts just don't know what its called..? Anyone.
All but done..$30.00 as is.
Nightstand Update:
Removed hardware, soaked, scrubbed and cleaned ready for reinstall.
Several layers of dirt, oils, etc. removed.
Next comes a second sanding, and another layer of paint..
New additions today. Set $35.00 as is..
Working a piece.
Finally got some time and started working the piece found a couple weeks ago. The medium sized night stand. Started the rough sand to remove the finish and layer of paint under it. Hopefully will have this one done in a few days, but with these temps the way they are, it might have to wait a bit. Think I lost about three pounds just from sweating doing the top alone.
Some fine wood under there. Minimal dings and one stain to try and remove. Pretty good shape, this one should finish up nicely. Still got a lot of sanding to do though..
Update:
6/17 Sanding complete, wiped down, washed, and first coat of paint on.
Removed hardware, soaked, scrubbed and cleaned ready for reinstall. Several layers of dirt, oils, etc. removed.
Lane Cedar Chest, $200.00
Lane Cedar Chest, another plucked from the potential pile of doom.. It simply amazes me what people are willing to throw or give away now-a-days.
Another great save today!
Another save today.. nice little 3 drawer night stand, with decorative edge pieces. Needs a sanding and some paint or stain and all is good. Has nice dove tail joinery in the drawers, solidly built. Stay tuned for the after photos.. hard to believe this was headed for a landfill yet again. Apparently it was a yard sale left over and tomorrow is trash day so it was rescued from the curb.
Where does your discarded items go?
EPA began collecting and reporting data on the generation and disposition of waste in the United States more than 35 years ago. The Agency uses this information to measure the success of materials management programs across the country and to characterize the national waste stream. These Facts and Figures are current through calendar year 2018.
Got the Domain
Finally managed to get the domain I was looking for. we are and can now be found at https://triple-r2ndchance.com/. Diligently working on content and building the site.
Glad that part is done and taken care of. Now just need to finish up with the LLC.
Shelf Tower $30.00 as is.
Nice little shelf tower, great for books, knick-knacks, plants whatever ya want. Only issue was a drawer rail needed a longer screw and one shelf pin was missing. Easy fixes and its good to go. Can't believe this was another great piece headed for the landfill, didn't even need painting. NOT ON MY WATCH..lol.

Where is Triple-R ?
Sorry for the lag in posts, however we are currently up in the cold.. Yup, we are in Maine and the weather still isn't optimal...lol. We had to make the journey north as we had some personal medical appointments to wrap up during the month of April. Rest assured we are returning at end of month and will pick up where we left off.
Looking forward to getting things up and running, and again picking up where we left off in the process. Still have a few things to set up such as LLC. Getting another vehicle for transports / pick ups etc. and a few other odds and ends. Just need to get through things here and we are on the way.. in the mean time feel free to peruse what is here and over on Facebook. Leave us a comment, suggestion, or questions and we will respond as soon as possible.
Flashback..
Came across a piece I did many years ago. Had forgotten about this roll top breadbox I had finished and painted. It now belongs to my daughter and she proudly displays it in here home.
Always nice to see your work from times past still surviving and being used. This to was a rescue headed for a landfill... not on my watch..lol.
Recent saves..
Nice tall, simple bookcase Overall condition was Grade-B, A little clean-up and it blended well in our daughters library. Another piece that was destined for the landfill, with still much use and function. Had I decided to sell this piece I probably would have charged around $25-30.00 for it but alas, my daughter claimed it.
This was part of a 3 piece credenza, desk combo. Cleaned, refurbished and now hangs in our entryway at the base of the staircase as an organizer for mail, keys, etc. Perfectly good usable piece repurposed, functional and a great addition.
